Bourque is the first woman to serve as managing partner in the firm’s 26-year history and is among a historically small number of women to hold that position at a leading Boston personal injury trial firm.
In her role as managing partner, Bourque will oversee day-to-day firm operations, including a team of experienced attorneys practicing in the areas of complex personal injury, real estate, and criminal defense. She will also direct recruiting and community initiatives, while continuing to represent clients in a broad range of complex personal injury matters.
Commenting on her new role, Bourque stated, “I am honored to take on this leadership role at Parker Scheer, a firm where I have spent the entirety of my legal career. I am extremely proud of the work we do every day, helping those who have been seriously injured or killed due to the negligence of others, and I am privileged to work alongside a team of attorneys and staff who are all deeply committed to obtaining the very best outcome for our clients.”
Bourque joined Parker Scheer in 1999 and serves as the Director of the firm’s Tort Litigation Practice Group. As a highly experienced trial attorney, she represents individuals and families who have suffered serious injuries or death due to medical malpractice, negligent motor vehicle operation, defective premises, dangerous products, and nursing home abuse and neglect – the latter being a special focus area of her practice. In addition to her trial experience, Bourque has successfully resolved a wide range of cases by way of mediation, binding arbitration, and negotiated settlement. Bourque is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and was elected a Past President of the Massachusetts chapter (2019-2020). She has also been named to the Best Lawyers in America (Health Care – Litigation and Medical Malpractice – Plaintiff) and has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer every year since 2013.
