As in most cases involving the failure of a physician to timely diagnose and treat an otherwise detectable and treatable disease, the challenge faced by lawyers practicing in the area of medical malpractice is to prove, by the weight of the evidence, that the physician charged with negligence was either aware of information that signals a potentially life-threatening disease or reasonably should have been so aware.
