Buying Real Estate in Sudbury

Sudbury Massachusetts is an affluent suburban town located 20 miles west of Boston. It has the sixth highest per capita income in the state and the population is 16,800 people (based on 2000 census). The town of Sudbury is situated on 25 acres and neighbors Wayland, Lincoln, Concord, Acton, Hudson, Maynard, Marlborough, and Framingham. Sudbury’s one-acre zoning minimum helps to preserve the rural character of the town.

One of Sudbury’s most famous landmarks is The Wayside Inn, built in 1716 and still in operation. Nearby it is the Old Gristmill, the Martha-Mary Chapel, and the Redstone Schoolhouse, said to be the schoolhouse in the nursery rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb. Another claim to fame for Sudbury is “Home Plate Farm” where Babe Ruth once lived.

The public high school, Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, recently completed a $74 million dollar renovation. There are four elementary schools and one middle school in Sudbury.
