Real Estate in Lincoln
The town of Lincoln Massachusetts, located 12 miles from Boston, and nestled between the towns of Weston, Wayland, Sudbury, Maynard, Concord, Lexington, and Waltham, is known for its sprawling rural fields and serene natural resources.
With a population of only 8,000 residents (as of 2000 census), the picturesque roads and many outdoor attractions make Lincoln one of the most desirable and affluent towns outside of Boston. It is home to the DeCordova Museum, one of Massachusetts’ finest museums. The museum building sits on 35 acres of park-like space, and is home to one of the largest sculpture parks in the country.
The Walden Woods Project, founded by singer Don Henley, is located in Lincoln and now houses The Thoreau Institute, a research and education center focused on the philosophy and literature of Henry David Thoreau.
In addition to its natural outdoor beauty and cultural offerings, Lincoln is also home to Drumlin Farm, a learning garden, wildlife sanctuary, and farmyard, managed by the Massachusetts Audubon Society. There are many special birds on display, hayrides, and plenty of animals for children to get close up to.
