Medical Injury – Botched Circumcision
While the vast majority of circumcisions are performed without complications, there are occasions where unintended injury to the child’s penis does occur. These injuries range from minor blemishes, to excessive tissue loss, and even amputation. It is extremely important to review the choice of medical instrumentation to be used by the treating physician before the procedure, as certain instruments have a higher incidence of botched circumcision injury than others.
