Garrett J. Lee named President of the Northeastern University Alumni Association

Boston, MA - February 11, 2008

Boston attorney Garrett J. Lee has been named President of the Northeastern University Alumni Association.

As President of the Northeastern Alumni Association, Mr. Lee will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the association. His duties will include directing and conducting business on behalf of the association, presiding over alumni board meetings, and overseeing alumni board outreach programs. In addition, he will serve as liaison to the University President and the Board of Trustees.

In addition to his role as president of the Northeastern Alumni Association, Mr. Lee also serves on the Steering Committee of the Northeastern University Boston Alumni Chapter Networking Exchange, a networking organization that he founded at the university in 2006. In 2007, Mr. Lee was the featured alumni speaker at Northeastern University's fall commencement.  

Garrett Lee is a Senior Associate at the Boston law firm Parker Scheer, LLP where he practices in the areas of business litigation, copyright and trademark infringement, employment, and construction law. Mr. Lee began his litigation career at Burns & Levinson, LLP in Boston where he represented architects, engineers, attorneys, and real estate professionals in complex professional liability disputes.

Garrett Lee received his Juris Doctorate degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1997. During law school, he completed legal clerkships with Burns & Levinson, LLP, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, Rosenberg & Schapiro, P.C., and the Civil Appellate Division of the Massachusetts District Court. He also served as a part-time advisor in Northeastern’s Department of Cooperative Education.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Lee was a Community Planner with the National Park Service in Boston. Some of his planning projects included the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area Study and the Hamilton Grange Relocation Project in New York, N.Y.

Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in 1993, graduating magna cum laude. He was a participant in the Honors Program and was the winner of the prestigious Cooperative Education Award. Mr. Lee also studied abroad at the University of London, Goldsmith’s College, U.K. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta and Golden Key national honors societies.

His professional memberships have included the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, and the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.
